Softball Gets Two More Wins Saturday, Finishing 4-1 Weekend in Salem (Va.)

SU beats West Lib, 4-2, and U-Sciences, 9-4, before falling 10-4 to LMU

The Shippensburg University softball team churned out 17 runs and 23 hits over three games Saturday at the West Virginia Wesleyan Tournament, defeating West Liberty and University of the Sciences before falling to Lincoln Memorial in competition at the Moyer Complex in Salem, Va.
 
Shippensburg (13-8) finished with a 4-1 weekend record after achieving a 4-2 win over the Hilloppers and a 9-4 win over the Devils before dropping a 10-4 decision to the Railsplitters.

Offensive stars on the day included junior Tara Bicko, who was 5-for-10 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Freshman Meghan Klee had three hits – a double and two home runs – while freshman Emily Zaring had a homer, double, single and four RBIs.
 
Shippensburg returns to action with a road trip next weekend, traveling to Alderson Broaddus next Friday and Pitt-Johnstown next Saturday.
