SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team shot 58 percent from the field on Wednesday night, as all five starters scored at least eight points in a 79-65 victory over East Stroudsburg in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup from Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (13-5, 8-4 PSAC) won its eighth straight game with strong passing – posting assists on nine of its 10 field goals in the first quarter en route to a 23-12 lead after just 10 minutes of play. The Raiders finished with 24 assists – its second-most in a game this season.
After an even second quarter, Shippensburg used an early 14-2 run in the third quarter to lead by as many as 24 points down the stretch. SU shot 10-of-12 (83 percent) in the third quarter to gain the decisive edge.

Morgan Griffith scored 20 points, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 2-of-4 from three-point range. Graduate
Stephanie Knauer had eight points, seven rebounds and four assists – she is now just 12 points shy of cracking the all-time Top 10 scoring list at Shippensburg.
Senior
Colleen Young was excellent once again, scoring 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting to go along with four assists and two rebounds. Young is averaging 15.6 points and shooting just shy of 60 percent (37-of-62) from the field over her last six games.
Wednesday marked another splendid all-around performance for senior
Logan Snyder, whose hustle resulted in nine points (3-of-5 shooting), eight rebounds, five assists, and tying a career high with four steals. Also from the guard spot, senior
Lauren Gold had 10 points and five assists.

Haley Scullion was strong in her 19 minutes off the bench, scoring eight points including a career-high 4-of-4 performance at the free-throw line. Scullion also had three assists and two rebounds. Junior
Kristin McGeough also had four points and three rebounds.
The Raiders posted a decisive 40-18 advantage on points in the paint, continuing their strength, as East Stroudsburg (9-7, 5-7 PSAC) was playing without All-PSAC forward Allison Howard for the second straight game. The Warriors got 22 points from Noelle Powell and 12 from Rachel Falkowski but shot 6-of-24 (25 percent) from three-point range as a team.
Shippensburg returns to action at 3 p.m. Saturday when it travels to Cheyney for a road match against the Wolves from Cope Hall.
