The No. 6 Shippensburg University field hockey team got goals Sunday from senior
Katelyn Grazan and sophomore
Noelle Kephart to defeat Saint Michael's, 2-0, at the Dr. Art DeGenaro Classic hosted by Mansfield University.
Shippensburg (3-0) won its second match in as many days and posted its second shutout of the year by limiting Saint Michael's (1-1) to just three shots on goal. SU achieved an 11-2 advantage in penalty corners and a 23-5 margin overall in shots.
After a scoreless first half, Grazan found the back of the net at the 43:14 mark by sending the ball over the keeper from a scrum in front of the goal. Fifteen minutes later, Kephart added her third goal of the year off an assist from freshman
Hannah Selassie.
Sophomore
Ally Mooney made three saves in goal for the shutout.
Shippensburg will begin its home schedule at 11 a.m. Saturday when it hosts Mansfield from Robb Sports Complex.
