The Shippensburg University lacrosse team hung with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent Seton Hill throughout the first half on Saturday, but the Raiders could not stave off the Griffins in a 15-8 loss on a frigid, grey, snowy afternoon in Greensburg.
Â
Shippensburg (3-9, 0-8 PSAC) trailed Seton Hill (6-7, 5-4) by just two goals, 5-3, at the intermission. The Griffins responded with seven consecutive goals coming out of halftime to take control of the match. SU scored four of the final five tallies during the final 10 minutes of play.
Â
Six different Raiders scored goals. Sophomore
Allison Fugate got SU on the board with a free-position tally exactly nine minutes into the game. Junior
Amanda Frank scored four minutes later, and freshman
Kyra Shank found the back of the net just 1:56 before halftime off an assist from freshman
Maggie Lawshe.
Â
Freshman

Â
Junior
Annemarie Cericola was a workhorse once again along the back lines. She collected team highs of six groundballs and three caused turnovers.
