Lacrosse Drops PSAC Contest at No. 7 West Chester, 16-4

Harclerode scores twice, as Frymoyer makes nine saves

The Shippensburg University lacrosse team traveled to No. 7 West Chester on Tuesday and dropped a 16-4 decision to the Golden Rams in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup on a sunny afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.

Shippensburg (3-10, 0-8 PSAC) opened the scoring 2:31 into the match on a goal by sophomore Allison Fugate, but the Raiders trailed 12-3 at halftime.

Junior Ali Harclerode scored twice for Shippensburg, while junior Max Barkley notched SU's final tally while totaling four draw controls and two groundballs.

Senior Ally Frymoyer made nine saves and also led the team with three groundballs. Freshman Valerie Hertz had two groundballs and two draw controls, while junior Annemarie Cericola and freshman Madi Newman also collected multiple groundballs.

Junior Amanda Frank and freshman Maggie Lawshe each had an assist on the day.

West Chester (13-1, 8-1 PSAC) dictated much of the play, controlling the majority of the possession and recording a 34-9 advantage in shots. The Golden Rams also held a 14-9 margin in draw controls.

Shippensburg will host Edinboro at 1 p.m. Saturday for the team's final regular season home game. Before Saturday's game, SU will honor Frymoyer and Tanisha Joseph (Collingdale, Pa./Academy Park) as the team's seniors.
