SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University lacrosse team could not withstand a potent offensive attack from No. 20 East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, as the Raiders dropped a 19-7 score to the visiting Warriors on an extremely windy afternoon at Robb Sports Complex.

Much as it did in its matchup with No. 7 Mercyhurst last Saturday, Shippensburg had a strong start to the game in the first minutes. The Raiders got goals from junior
Ali Harclerode and sophomore
Allison Fugate to lead 2-0, as SU kept the Warriors off the scoreboard for the first 11 minutes of play.

Fugate had a solid game up top with two goals, two assists and two groundballs. Harclerode also scored twice in addition to one caused turnover and one groundball. The other goal scorers on the day for the Raiders were junior
Amanda Frank, freshman
Kyra Shank and freshman
Morgan Stone.

Stone had a strong game, recording a career-high four groundballs in addition to two caused turnovers. Junior
Annemarie Cericola had four groundballs and two caused turnovers, while freshmen
Madi Newman  and
Maggie Lawshe contributed assists.

Junior
Max Barkley also finished with an assist but also had a strong day in the faceoff circle with eight draw controls. Draws were 14-13 in favor of East Stroudsburg, with no draw coming at the end of the game following Stone's late tally.

Shippensburg plays four of its final five games on the road, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at Seton Hill.
