SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University tennis team picked up a pair of victories Saturday as it topped Cheyney in two matches, 5-0 and 5-0, as one match counted in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and the other served as a nonconference tilt.
 
Shippensburg (3-7, 1-2 PSAC) played well all afternoon, with numerous members of the Raider roster winning matches. In doubles, the combinations of senior Emily Cox and freshman Gabbie Binder plus freshman Hannah Coath and freshman Megan Moorhead both won 8-0 in the first match.
 
Freshman Bryanna Beamer and freshman McKensi Washabaugh picked up an 8-2 doubles in the second match while freshman Kaylin Gallagher and freshman Victoria Galanti won 8-0.
 
Gallagher also won a singles match in straight sets. Freshman Sarah Lecher also won her singles match in two sets (6-1, 6-1).
 
The Raiders are back in action Wednesday when they travel to West Chester for a match beginning at 4 p.m.
