The Shippensburg University women's basketball team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) road matchup against IUP on Saturday afternoon, 69-59, from the Kovalchick Complex.
Shippensburg (5-2, 2-1 PSAC) trailed IUP (4-2, 3-0) heading into the break, 28-27, after getting nine points from senior
Lauren Gold after she shot 3-of-4 from three-point range.
The third quarter proved to be the difference in the game after the Crimson Hawks outscored the Raiders, 24-14. Shippensburg shot 37.5% from the field and did not make a three-pointer in the frame, while IUP was 10-of-14 from the field.
The Raiders were led by graduate
Stephanie Knauer who notched team-highs in points and rebounds with 15 and seven respectively. Gold and senior
Logan Snyder also scored in double figures for the Raiders, with Gold totaling 13 points and Snyder finishing with 12.
The Raiders finished the game shooting 37.9% from the field and 66.7% from three-point range. IUP's Megan Smith scored a game-high 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.
Shippensburg will return to action Sunday at 1 p.m. at Seton Hill to finish its PSAC competition for the weekend.
