SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team dropped a close Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match with California (Pa.) on Saturday, 1-0, on a windy Senior Day afternoon at David See Field.
Shippensburg (5-11, 2-8 PSAC) and California (9-5-1, 5-4-1) exchanged first-half chances but neither team was able to break through, and the game was scoreless at the half.
The Raiders pressured the Vulcans throughout the second half, registering five shots and taking two corner kicks, but were unable to break the tie.
California's Elliot Taylor headed home the game winner off an assist from Eric Campbell in the 79th minute.
