SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team extended its winning streak to six matches on Saturday, picking up straight-set victories over Cheyney (25-19, 25-12, 25-8) and Ursuline (25-21, 25-16, 25-21) on "Dig Pink" day at Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (19-3, 7-2 PSAC) used every player in uniform for the match over Cheyney (2-14, 0-9), with 10 different players recording a kill. Freshman
Kendall Johnson and senior
Annie Goerl had six kills, while sophomore
Katie Lemheney and senior
Rebecca Pryor each had four.

In the victory over Ursuline (14-8), the Raiders got a match-high 12 kills, four blocks and a .292 hitting performance from freshman
Samantha Webber. Senior
Maria Peluso had 21 digs and senior
Maura Nolan had 34 assists.

SU hit .207 against the Arrows and served six aces – two each by Goerl, freshman
Gabriella Johnson and sophomore
Morgan DeFloria. Goerl had seven kills and 16 digs in the nightcap, while
Kendall Johnson had nine kills and two block assists.

Goerl has now reached 902 kills in her career, making her the ninth player in SU history with 900 or more kills. She is 60 digs (1,125 in career) and seven aces (136 in career) from entering SU's all-time Top 10 in each category.

Nolan reached 10th all-time in digs at Shippensburg with 1,185 (teammate Peluso is eighth all-time with 1,308). With this latest achievement, Nolan now has the school record for assists (4,587), ranks fifth all-time in block assists (246), 10th all-time in digs and 10th all-time in total blocks (269).

Shippensburg held its annual "Dig Pink" day on Saturday, auctioning baskets and raising funds for the Side-Out Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness.

Shippensburg will host long-time rival UPJ at 7 p.m. Friday in a battle of the top teams in the PSAC Central Division from Heiges Field House.
