The Shippensburg University women's tennis team participated in its second conference crossover match in as many days on Saturday, facing Western opponent Clarion but dropping a 7-2 decision to the Golden Eagles.
Shippensburg won its first games in a match with a Western Division school since 2013-14, as the Raiders won a singles and a doubles match against Clarion.
The constant in both wins was sophomore
Kaylin Gallagher, who claimed a 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 victory at No. 4 singles and teamed with senior
Emilie Luttman for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles.
Also in doubles, sophomores
Hannah Coath and
Victoria Galanti won four games in the third flight while sophomore
Gabbie Binder and freshman
Catherine Miller won two games in the first flight.
In singles, Miller won two games in each set of her match at No. 1. Luttman won three games in each set at No. 3 singles, while Binder and Coach each won three combined games in their respective matches.
