The Shippensburg University men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Goldey-Beacom on Thursday afternoon in a non-conference matchup with the Lightning at NCS Field in Wilmington, Del.
Shippensburg (5-9) countered a 23rd-minute strike by the Lightning with the first collegiate goal for sophomore
Justin Blumberg. Sophomore
Kevin Norris was credited with the assist on Blumberg's goal.
Goldey-Beacom (8-4-1) scored in the 57th minute and clinched the win with another goal with just 2:07 remaining to create the final scoring margin. The hosts posted a 22-12 advantage in shots and an 8-5 margin in shots on goal, while the Raiders posted a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Evan Raimist made his season debut and recorded five saves for the Raiders.
Shippensburg remains on the road for its next matchup, as the Raiders will travel Monday into West Virginia for a 2 p.m. clash with the Mountain Lions.
