Women’s Soccer Falls On the Road in PSAC Match At Millersville, 2-0

SU outshot Millersville 17-7 on the afternoon

The Shippensburg University women's soccer team fell to Millersville, 2-0, Tuesday afternoon at Pucillo Field in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup.
 
Shippensburg (8-7, 6-6 PSAC) and Millersville (5-7, 5-7) were tied for 80 minutes with both teams exchanging chances throughout the match.
 
Freshman Paige Harris hit the crossbar in the seventh minute to nearly give the Raiders an early advantage. Sophomore Tori Mills led the Raiders with three shots on goal.
 
Millersville used two late goals from Stacie Hallinan to edge the Raiders. This marked only the second time this season that the Raiders were shutout.
 
Shippensburg outshot Millersville 17-7, with 10 of those 17 being on goal compared to just five on goal for the Marauders. The Raiders also out-cornered Millersville 10-3, but were unable to find the back of the net.
 
Redshirt-junior goalkeeper Leah Roy recorded three saves in the defeat.
 
Shippensburg will return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Clarion for Senior Day at David See Field. Before the game, the team will recognize Jenna Brown, Sharon Juarez, Casey Rightmyer, Roy, Ashley Weaver and Stephanie Allshouse
