Box Score 2 The Shippensburg University volleyball team scored two important regional victories Friday as it began its weekend at the 2015 PSAC/Mountain East Conference Crossover Tournament, defeating home-standing West Liberty in four sets before outlasting Fairmont State in five sets in matches at WLU's ASRC.

Shippensburg (8-1) defeated West Liberty (3-7) by set scores of 25-19, 25-27, 25-22 and 25-21, and Fairmont State (4-5) by set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-23, ##-##, 15-10. [Score of the fourth set and complete statistics of the second match are currently unavailable.]

The win over Fairmont State was especially pivotal for the Raiders, as the Fighting Falcons have been MEC Tournament Finalists in each of the last three seasons, having compiled a 75-23 record over that span.

Morgan DeFloria paced the Raiders in kills against West Liberty, totaling 13 while hitting .170. Junior
Maura Nolan had five kills, five blocks and 44 assists while senior
Taylor Gottshall had 10 kills, four blocks and hit .143. Five Raiders were credited with double-digit digs.

SU heads to Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday for the second day of the PSAC/Mountain East Crossover. The Raiders have to begin the day against No. 10 Wheeling Jesuit, the perennial Atlantic Region Champions, at 11 a.m. SU then faces Shepherd at 4 p.m.
