[press links posted when available to be linked]SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University football team stays on the road this weekend with a 1 p.m. Saturday matchup at California.
Live audio coverage of the game will be provided by Shippensburg University's student radio station (WSYC) and over terrestrial radio at 88.7 FM. WSYC is also on Tune-In Radio. Joey Marinelli and Dustan Snyder will have the call live from California. Additionally, CAL-TV will broadcast the game. Both broadcast options are linked above.
Shippensburg holds a 43-31-1 lead in the series history. SU has lost five of the last six meetings, including last season's 22-point loss to California. Prior to 2005, Shippensburg won 14 consecutive meetings from 1991-2004 and 19-of-20 from 1985-2004.
Shippensburg has not been to California since the final game of the 2007 season, when it was defeated 30-9 by the Vulcans.
The last PSAC championship won by Shippensburg came when the Red Raiders beat Cal 42-35 at Seth Grove Stadium in 2009. However, the Vulcans defeated Shippensburg two weeks later in the NCAA Division II playoffs. Those two meetings in 2009 were the last contests between the two teams until last year's game in Shippensburg.
The Red Raiders' 367 pass yards in last season's meeting were the second-most in a game by Shippensburg in the 2014 season.
In last season's meeting at Seth Grove Stadium, California beat Shippensburg, 56-34. It was the first time the Red Raiders had been defeated at home under Coach Maciejewski when scoring more than 30 points.
