The Shippensburg University tennis team was eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday after a pair of hard-fought losses in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchups with East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg. The Raiders fell to ESU, 7-2, and Bloomsburg, 9-0.
 
In the morning ESU matchup, senior Julia Saintz notched a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles while sophomore Emilie Luttman recorded a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles. Saintz and junior Brittnee Buckley battled at No. 1 doubles but fell 8-5, while junior Emily Cox won five games in her match at No. 3 singles.
 
During the afternoon matchup with Bloomsburg, Cox and Luttman went to a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles but came up just short, falling 9-8 (7-3). In singles, Saintz went to a tiebreaker in her final collegiate match – the final score was 6-2, 1-6 and 10-4 in the tiebreaker.
 
Also against the Huskies, freshman Christine Devine claimed eight games at No. 5 singles but dropped a 6-3, 7-5 decision, while freshman Sarah Kramer won four games at No. 6 singles.
 
Saintz finished her collegiate career with 20 singles victories, while Shippensburg's five dual-meet victories on the season are its most since the 2005-06 season.
