SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team put together a furious rally in the final two minutes Friday night but couldn't complete the comeback in an 82-79 loss to IUP in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (5-2, 3-2 PSAC) trailed 80-67 with 3:05 remaining before embarking on a 12-0 run over a span of roughly two minutes to come within one, but the Raiders were unable to tie it up as a three-pointer was missed by SU at the horn.

Morgan Griffith led the Raiders with a career-high 27 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field, including a 4-of-6 mark from beyond the arc. Griffith also paced SU with nine rebounds.

Colleen Young had an efficient evening, making 6-of-7 attempts to total 16 points and four assists. Junior
Haley Scullion also shot the rock well, going 6-of-9 from the field on her way to 14 points while tying a career high with five steals.

Logan Snyder was the fourth Raider in double-digits with 11 points to go along with four rebounds.
During the Raiders' run of 12 straight points, SU forced six turnovers with a full-court press, including the final steal that led to Griffith being fouled. She made both free throws to cut IUP's lead to 80-79 with 38 seconds remaining.
IUP (6-3, 3-2) took its time on the ensuing possession, winding the shot clock the entire way down before the Crimson Hawks' Leslie Stapleton made a running layup as the shot clock expired. That allowed SU roughly seven seconds to find the game-tying three-pointer. Quick ball movement by the Raiders afforded Young a look from the right wing that bounced off the front of the rim.
The Raiders biggest lead of the night was by four in the second quarter, but the Crimson Hawks finished the first half with a 7-2 run that included a three-pointer at the buzzer to take a six-point lead into halftime. SU's biggest deficit of the night was the 13-point difference that the Raiders almost completely erased late.
SU has a quick turnaround as it hosts Seton Hill Saturday at 2 p.m. from Heiges Field House.
