SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team had three players crack double figures and 13 players score overall Friday night in its season opener, an 89-52 win over Penn State Lehigh Valley in the 2015 Wolf's Bus Lines Classic at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (1-0) was led by junior point guard
Abe Massaley's 17 points. Massaley made 8-of-13 field goal attempts while also dishing out a team-high four assists and grabbing five rebounds. The speedy guard made all four of his attempts from the field within the first four minutes of the contest.
Sophomore

Antonio Kellem each scored 10 points for SU. The Raiders held a 12-point lead at half, but quickly turned it into a 21-point advantage as a Kellem put-back dunk capped off a 12-3 run to open the second half.
SU outscored PSU Lehigh Valley 49-24 in the second half as the Raiders shot 51.3 percent from the floor after intermission. Meanwhile, the SU defense limited the Lions to just 23.4 percent shooting on the night.
Senior
Tony Ellis came close to a double-double with nine points and an SU-best nine rebounds. The Raiders outrebounded the Lions 57-41 as every player on the SU roster grabbed a board. Four different SU players had five rebounds.
Every SU player played at least eight minutes in the victory with no member of the Raider roster playing more than 21 minutes.
The Raiders will try to improve to 2-0 tomorrow night when they host Nyack at 8 p.m. from Heiges Field House.
