Before the 2009 meetings, Cal had won three straight games from 2005-07. However, Shippensburg had won 14 consecutive games against the Vulcans from 1991-2004.
From 1971-2009, the two teams played at least once each season with the exception of 2008.
SU is 22-16 in home games during the series. The two teams first met in 1926, with Shippensburg earning a 9-7 victory at home.

The Vulcans, picked No. 2 in the PSAC Western Division Preseason Coaches' Poll, have finished third in the West for each of the last two years. Since 2004, Cal has gone 25-9 against PSAC East teams, with five of those losses coming to Bloomsburg.
Last Week:Last week, Shippensburg scored 33 consecutive points in an 11-minute span of the second and third quarters and had senior wide receiver
Trevor Harman eclipse two school records in a 47-21 triumph over Edinboro in a conference clash from Seth Grove Stadium. Shippensburg (2-0, 1-0 PSAC) totaled 479 yards on offense against Edinboro (0-2, 0-1) with a balanced attack that featured Harman's 12-reception, 133-yard, 2-touchdown effort.

Quarterback James Harris finished with 252 passing yards on 23-of-34 attempts with two touchdowns and one interception. Cal was intercepted in overtime before the Huskies won it with a field goal.

Vulcans in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Division II Super Region One football playoffs from Seth Grove Stadium, but a fourth-quarter rally came up just short as the Red Raiders dropped a 26-21 decision to conclude their season.
