The No. 18 Shippensburg University baseball team managed just six hits Saturday in its road PSAC East doubleheader at regional rival Millersville, dropping a pair of pitcher's duels by scores of 2-1 and 2-0 from Cooper Park.

Shippensburg (22-10, 9-7 PSAC East) got complete-game efforts on the mound from senior Pat Kregeloh and sophomore Rich Michaud, as the duo combined to allow just three earned runs and one walk in 12 innings. Kregeloh threw 84 pitches in the opener, fanning three, while Michaud only threw 67 pitches in the nightcap and struck out two.

SU's lone run of the day came in the first inning of Game 1. Senior Michael Douglas walked to lead off the game, stole second, moved to third on a balk, and scored on a two-out single by Kregeloh.

Shippensburg had five hits and drew three walks against Millersville (25-10, 12-4) Game 1 starter Tad Barton, but the Raiders left seven on base – including a pair of runners in scoring position in the fourth and another in the fifth.

SU managed a lone single in the first inning of Game 2 off the bat of junior Jimmy Spanos, as Marauder starter Jim McDade retired the final 14 batters he faced to earn the victory in the nightcap.

Shippensburg enters Sunday in a tie for third place in the PSAC Eastern Division with West Chester. The Raiders and Golden Rams are two games behind Bloomsburg (19-13, 11-5) and three games behind Millersville.

First pitch Sunday from Fairchild Field is set for 1 p.m.
