Softball will be collecting donations for the Chambersburg chapter of the Central Pennsylvania MS Society

The No. 16-ranked Shippensburg University softball team will be hosting MS Awareness Day this Sunday surrounding its 1 p.m. PSAC Eastern Division doubleheader vs. Millersville at Robb Field.

Charitable donations will be collected throughout the day and later presented to the Chambersburg chapter of the Central Pennsylvania MS Society.

An orange bat autographed by the 2014 SU softball team will be raffled off at the game, and T-shirt giveaways will also take place.

Throughout the year, Shippensburg University student-athletes and Tau Kappa (Shippensburg University's women's athletic sorority) have worked to raise charitable donations toward a variety of causes – including the pursuit of a cure for multiple sclerosis.

Earlier this month, Tau Kappa held Project Prom Dress -- a fund-raiser that assisted current high school students with their attire for prom season. All of the proceeds from that event were earmarked for this cause. [Read more about Project Prom Dress here]

Before Sunday's games, Tau Kappa will be on the field to present the funds to the Chambersburg chapter of the Central Pennsylvania MS Society.
