SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University chapter of Tau Kappa (women's athletics sorority) raised $550 on March 8 during its fourth annual "Project Prom Dress" event from Heiges Field House. All proceeds were given to the Central PA Chapter of the National MS Society.

The event managed to sell 26 dresses, two pairs of shoes, two purses and three pairs of earrings while tickets for 14 prize packs were also sold. The intent was to make it easier for teen girls in local areas to attend their high school formals by lightening their financial burden.

Project Prom Dress has now raised nearly $2,500 in its four years selling dresses and related accessories.
