The Shippensburg University baseball team fell victim to a Millersville walk-off bunt single in extra innings of Game 2 on Friday afternoon to drop both ends of the doubleheader to the PSAC East-leading Marauders from Marauder Park. The Game 1 final was 5-3 with the nightcap a 2-1 decision.

Shippensburg (17-11, 4-6 PSAC East) totaled as many hits on the day (15) as the total number of runners they left stranded on base. Millersville (22-8) remains unblemished in the PSAC East with a 6-0 mark to start the season.

Junior Pat Kregeloh pitched the entirety of Game 2 on a 108-pitch effort and gave up seven hits and one earned run while matching his career high with eight strikeouts. Senior Tom Bush also went the distance in the opener and struck out five while scattering eight hits.

Sophomore second baseman Jimmy Spanos had a team-high three hits on the day while Kregeloh went 2-for-4 at the plate in the second game and drove in the team's lone run. His infield single in the first scored junior center fielder Michael Douglas, who led off the game with a double to right field.

The two-bagger was Douglas's second of the afternoon as he also drove in two runs in the second inning of the opener. The double gave the Raiders a brief 3-2 lead and plated freshman shortstop Mike Marcinko and Spanos – who drove in the first run of the inning with a single through the right side.

Millersville tied the opener in the second before taking a two-run lead in the third with the game's final runs – on a double down the left-field line from Marauder third baseman Tyler McDonald.

Kregeloh worked his way out of multiple jams in the later innings of the nightcap, leaving runners at second and third in the sixth inning before striking out the side in the seventh to leave runners stranded on first and second.

Shippensburg hosts Millersville at 1 p.m. Saturday in a doubleheader from Fairchild Field.
