SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team has moved atop the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Rankings and is now ranked No. 20 nationally by both the NCBWA and the ABCA (baseballnews.com).
Shippensburg (7-1), off to its best eight-game start under head coach
Matt Jones, is batting .346 and averaging more than seven runs per game. SU has 10 or more hits in five games.
The Raiders have also been strong on the mound, pitching to a 2.68 earned-run average while striking out 57 batters through 57 innings.
Junior
Pat Kregeloh, currently on the Tino Martinez Player of the Year Watch List, is hitting .552 at the plate (16-of-29) with two home runs, eight RBIs and 12 runs scored while pitching to a 3-0 record with a 2.37 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 19 innings. Kregeloh has multiple hits in six of seven games.

No. 20 Shippensburg (7-1) will host No. 26 Slippery Rock (8-0) this weekend in a three-game series from Fairchild Field that features the top two teams in the Atlantic Region.
Saturday's doubleheader begins at noon from Fairchild Field while Sunday's single nine-inning game will also start at noon.
