The Shippensburg University women's volleyball team continued its winning ways in PSAC Eastern Division play on Tuesday night inside Pucillo Gymnasium, sweeping the host Millersville Marauders by set scores of 25-17, 26-24 and 27-25.

Shippensburg (11-6, 4-3 PSAC East) needed to dip into extra points to take the final two sets. SU and Millersville (5-9, 2-5) were tied 24-24 in the second set before a combined block by sophomore Faith Athey and freshman Gabbie Holt prefaced the lone kill of the night by freshman Annie Goerl.

A solo block by sophomore Taylor Gottshall and an ace by senior Jill Edwards ultimately clinched the third set and the victory for the Raiders.

Holt paced the Raiders with 11 kills on just three errors, swinging .348. The Virginia native added three digs and two block assists. Edwards had eight kills, 12 digs and three aces.

Freshman setter Maura Nolan had 29 assists while freshman Maria Peluso returned to the libero position and led the team with 15 digs. Athey, the reigning PSAC East Player of the Week, had six kills and matched Gottshall with four total blocks.

The Raider defense limited the Marauders to a .054 hitting percentage. During SU's current three-game winning streak, no team has hit above .100 against the Raiders.

Excluding its matchups against Lock Haven, Shippensburg has won 17 consecutive matches against PSAC Eastern Division opponents dating back to Oct. 22, 2011.

Shippensburg remains on the road this weekend as it travels to ESU on Friday (7 p.m.) and Kutztown on Saturday (1 p.m.).
