SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University volleyball program will be hosting a “Dig Pink” event this Saturday at Heiges Field House during its 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. matches. Fans are encouraged to wear pink clothing and donations will be collected for the Side-Out Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness.
The team has donated themed baskets that will be auctioned off at the matches, with the proceeds again going to the Side-Out Foundation.
Side-Out was established in 2004 as a non-profit organization emphasizing the role of volleyball coaches, players and advocates seeking to provide education about breast cancer and conduct fund-raising opportunities to help current patients.
Shippensburg hosts Kutztown in a PSAC Eastern Division match at 1 p.m. before taking on Fairmont State in a non-conference match at 6:30 p.m.
