SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore
Daniela Delgado won in straight sets at No. 4 singles to lead a trio of singles winners on Friday afternoon as the Shippensburg University women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to East Stroudsburg from the Robb Sports Complex tennis courts.
Delgado beat East Stroudsburg's Annie Vega, 7-6, 6-2 to earn her second win of the season. Freshman
Kat Werner and junior
Cassie Sidone also won at singles, with each player winning in a tiebreaker.
Werner defeated Allison Bean at No. 2 singles, 3-6, 7-6, 10-6, while Sidone beat Elizabeth Longenhagen at No. 3 singles, 7-6, 2-6, 10-7. Sidone won her second match of the season while Werner won her first No. 2 singles victory of the year.
Freshman
Julia Saintz won a game in the second set at No. 1 singles and junior
Lisa Snader won two games in the second set at No. 5 singles.
Sophomore
Hannah Wolfe won two games in the first set at No. 6 singles before dropping a tight 7-5 decision in the second set.
