BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team could not keep up with host Bloomsburg in the second half of a critical PSAC showdown, as the host Huskies outscored the Raiders by six goals in the final frame en route to a 16-10 victory from Sports Stadium.
Shippensburg (6-5, 2-4) played to a 6-6 tie in the opening half, getting a goal from senior
Jessica Schubach just 13 seconds before the intermission to enter halftime with a tie score. Junior
Lindsey Kennedy contributed two goals in the first half and finished the game having recorded her fifth hat trick of the season in addition to recording a team-high four draw controls.
SU also got first-half tallies from freshman

Sheila Johnson and sophomore
Kayla Dalzell.

Lauren Hauck and Schubach added tallies in the second half for the Raiders. Schubach also finished with two assists.

Ali Cross made 10 saves while sophomore
Liz French had four groundballs and two draw controls. Sophomore
Carly Ruberti had a career game as she was credited with four groundball pickups, three caused turnovers and three draw controls.
Bloomsburg (5-7, 3-4) scored the first four goals of the second half to build a 10-6 advantage that it would not relinquish. The Huskies kept the Raiders off the scoreboard for the first 13 minutes of the final frame and got seven goals from team assists leader Maggie Canavan. Samantha King added four tallies for the Huskies.
Shippensburg will host a pivotal game with East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m. Saturday from Robb Sports Complex.
