SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – En route to an 11-2 campaign in which it started the season 10-0, won a PSAC Eastern Division title and recorded its first NCAA playoff victory since since 1991, the Shippensburg University football team broke or tied 73 school records in the process.

The 73 records (65 broken, eight tied) can be categorized as follows: 28 team records and 45 individual records; 24 single-game records, 38 single-season records and 11 career records; 55 offensive records, six defensive records and 10 special teams records.

Of the 45 individual records set, junior quarterback Zach Zulli, the PSAC East and Daktronics Super Region One Offensive Player of the Year, is responsible for 25, including six single-game records, 11 single-season records and eight career records. Junior kicker Michael Lloyd was responsible for three single-game (all at Kutztown) and three single-season kicking records while junior kicker Drew Newcomer set the single-game kicking record with 16 points in the NCAA playoff win over Bloomsburg.

Sophomore wide receiver Trevor Harman achieved three single-game receiving records at Kutztown (18 catches, 288 yards, five touchdowns) as well as the single-season (19) and career (28) records for receiving touchdowns.

Senior running back Mike Frenette set a single-game record with 332 all-purpose yards against Millersville and a single-season record with 56 receptions by a running back as well as the career record with 142. Senior wide receiver Jacob Baskerville set three single-season receiving records in his final season: catches (85), receiving yards (1,405) and 100-yard games (eight).

On the defensive side of the ball, senior linebacker Cody Fleming set the record for career tackles for loss with 52.5, breaking the mark previously held by current head coach Mark Maciejewski '92/'96M. Junior defensive end Jake Metz made 11.5 sacks in 2012 to set the new single-season record.
