Jill Edwards led all players with a season-high 26 kills on Friday night but East No. 2 seed Shippensburg University women's volleyball team suffered a heartbreaker in five sets in the PSAC Semifinals to West No. 1 seed and PSAC Tournament host Gannon. Set scores were 25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 19-25 and 13-15.

The Raiders (27-11) started out hot in the first set and held a seven-point lead on five different occasions before finishing with a hitting percentage of .343 (16 kills and just four errors). A 10-3 run in the middle of the second set gave Shippensburg a 23-20 lead, but the Golden Knights (27-5) rattled off five consecutive points to even-up the match.
Both teams battled to 12 different ties in the third set, and with the Raiders down 21-20, SU rattled off five straight points (three kills, a service ace and an attack error) to claim the set. Gannon pulled away late in the fourth set to send the match into a deciding fifth stanza.
Gannon jumped out 5-2 before the Raiders went on a 6-2 run to get ahead 8-7. GU took eight of the next 15 points, however, to advance to Saturday's PSAC Championship game against Lock Haven.
