The Shippensburg University women's volleyball team recorded a sweep of regional opponent Seton Hill on Monday night from the McKenna Center by set scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-20.
Shippensburg (13-6) avenged a five-set loss to the Griffins last season in which junior
Jill Edwards set the single-game school record for kills with 35. Edwards led all players Monday night with 14 kills, hitting .250 to go along with seven digs and three service aces.
SU had 13 blocks in Monday's straight-set victory, with several coming off the reach of freshman
Taylor Gottshall – who had five solo blocks and four block assists. Gottshall also had seven kills and hit .375.
Junior
Samantha Edwards had five kills, six digs and three service aces while senior
Rachel Smicker had four kills, seven digs, a solo block and four block assists.
Senior
Andrea Heimsoth distributed 28 assists and had 12 digs in addition to a pair of block assists and a kill. Fellow senior
Lauren Murphy led all players with 21 digs from her libero position.
The Raiders will also compete in their second set of PSAC crossovers this weekend, playing twice at Slippery Rock on Friday before taking on two more teams Saturday from Clarion.
