MANSFIELD, Pa. The Shippensburg University men's basketball team will continue PSAC Eastern Division play on Saturday afternoon from Decker Gymnasium with a matchup against the Mountaineers of Mansfield University. The men's tip is scheduled for 3 p.m. or approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the women's basketball game between the two schools.

Shippensburg enters the game in a tie for fourth place in the Eastern Division with West Chester. Mansfield, the defending PSAC Eastern Division champion, is a game behind the two teams and is seeking its fourth consecutive trip to the postseason. Mountie junior Chuck Harper leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game, while senior Josh Dupuy ranks tied for 18th in Division II in assists per game, with 5.7.

Shippensburg has been extremely accurate from the field this season in making nearly half its shots, as the Raiders lead the PSAC in field-goal percentage, shooting 49.7 percent. That number ranks them 19th overall in Division II.

The Raiders have shot 50 percent or better from the field in nine of 15 games, including two in which the team shot 61 percent from the field. SU has shot less than 42 percent in a game just twice this season.

Senior power forward Will Royal has averaged 12.1 points per game through 15 contests. Sophomore center Dylan Edgar is also thriving — shooting exactly 60 percent from the floor (fifth-best field goal percentage in the PSAC) while averaging 9.8 points per game.

Shippensburg is beginning to show improvement from the free-throw line in 2011, posting a 67.8 percent efficiency through 15 games. Through 12 games last year, the team shot just 62.4 percent from the line (178-of-285).
