SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore
Ruthie Kane won her second straight matchup at No. 6 singles on Friday afternoon from Robb Sports Complex but the Shippensburg University tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to the undefeated Griffins of Chestnut Hill College.
Kane defeated Olivia Stevenson in her singles match, 6-1, 6-3. Freshman
Julia Saintz performed well in both of her matches on Friday, teaming with sophomore
Daniela Delgado for an 8-5 loss at No. 2 doubles before winning four games in her match at No. 4 singles.
Juniors
Cassie Sidone and
Lisa Snader teamed up as the No. 1 doubles duo and also played No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
Shippensburg is on the road and faces West Virginia State at 11 a.m. tomorrow. The Yellowjackets are 5-0 thus far.
