SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team lost two matches in PSAC crossover action on Saturday from Edinboro. The Raiders (3-9, 0-3 PSAC) lost in four sets to Gannon (22-25, 18-25, 25-21, 10-25) and in five sets to Edinboro (25-20, 26-24, 13-25, 12-25, 7-15), marking the fourth time in the last five matches that the team has lost in heart-breaking five-set fashion.
Sophomore 
Jill Edwards had 14 kills to lead SU in the first match, with senior 
Libby Woffindin just behind with 10. Edwards also added four aces and 15 digs defensively, which, along with her 14 kills, led all individuals. Junior 
Rachel Smicker added four block assists.
The Raiders won the first two sets vs. Edinboro, but the Fighting Scots clamped down in the final three sets, allowing just 32 total points. Edwards' 16 kills again led Shippensburg, while Woffindin contributed five block assists. A trio of juniors led SU defensively, with 
Andrea Heimsoth, 
Lauren Murphy and 
Jenny Pry posting 17, 16 and 15 digs respectively. 
Jenny Pry also had nine kills and hit .219.
Shippensburg opens PSAC East play at West Chester next Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.
