SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team honored seniors

Karen Schnurr before its Saturday afternoon home game with No. 7 West Chester before dropping a 16-3 decision to the Golden Rams.

Meghan Kearney made 11 saves and also led the Raiders with five groundball pickups.
West Chester (9-1, 7-0 PSAC) scored eight goals in each period and controlled the pace of play for the majority of the contest. The Golden Rams controlled 13 of the 21 draws in the contest.
Brewer has been a steady attacking player for Shippensburg over the course of two-plus seasons. Her banner season came last year as a junior when she led the team with 37 goals and was selected to the All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team squad. Among the highlights was a seven-goal performance in a 10-7 win at Millersville. This season, Brewer has scored 21 goals in just 10 games and ranks third on the team in points.
Schnurr is the most veteran member of the team and has started all 57 games in which she has appeared during her career - scoring 20 or more goals in three of her four seasons. As a senior, Schnurr has already set a new career-high this year with 23 goals. Overall, Schnurr has scored 70 goals in her career and also has been an important player on draws, controlling 69 over the course of three-plus seasons.
On Wednesday, Shippensburg will host Bloomsburg at 4 p.m. from Robb Sports Complex.
