SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team overcame a halftime deficit on Monday afternoon by scoring seven times in the final frame to stave off a pesky Shepherd squad, 13-12. Sophomore
Lindsey Kennedy scored what proved to be the game winner with 6:32 remaining in the contest.
Shippensburg (7-6) scored just three goals in the first 20 minutes of the contest but rallied to get within two goals of the Rams at the intermission. After an early second-half goal by the hosts, the Raiders strung together six consecutive goals in a 15-minute span. The rally transformed a three-goal deficit into a three-goal lead and helped Shippensburg maintain its edge down the stretch.
