KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Shippensburg University softball team struggled on Sunday morning at the 2011 Rebel Spring Games, dropping a 13-3 decision in five innings to Bellarmine and coming up on the wrong end of an 8-0 score against Northwood (Mich.).
Senior
Hope Cornell was the team's pacesetter at the plate, finishing the doubleheader 5-for-6 with an RBI. Fellow senior
Jill Mullan extended her hitting streak to six games with singles in both contests.
Shippensburg (9-4) used four different pitchers between the two contests. The Raiders also committed five errors overall that resulted in six unearned runs.
The Raiders will try to reverse their fortune on Wednesday with games against Fayetteville State and Chestnut Hill.
