SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Junior
Jessica Schubach recorded a hat trick for the second straight game as the Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team had six players score multiple goals in a 14-7 conference victory over Edinboro.
Shippensburg (3-3, 1-2 PSAC East) held the Fighting Scots to just one goal in the second half with an intelligently played final frame. It was the second time this season that SU has held its opponent to one goal in a half – the team also achieved the feat in the season-opening victory over Lenoir-Rhyne.
SU scored 10 of its goals in the first half. Junior
Ali Cross scored two of the team's first three goals and continued her success in the circle with a game-high six draw controls. Cross also picked up four groundballs and had two caused turnovers. Overall, SU won 14 of the 23 draw controls in the contest.

Bennett Widlake each contributed one goal in each half. Sophomore
Roxanne Brown also added a goal.
Defensively, junior
Meagan Borgoyn had one caused turnover and two groundballs while freshman
Liz French had two caused turnovers.
Junior
Meghan Kearney had another great game in front of the cage. In addition to six saves, Kearney led the team with five groundballs and intercepted two passes for caused turnovers.
On Saturday, Shippensburg concludes its four-game homestand with a 1 p.m. clash against Slippery Rock.
