SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senior
Katie Brewer netted a first-half hat trick on Thursday but the Shippensburg University lacrosse team opened its home schedule with a 23-7 loss to No. 4 Lock Haven from Robb Sports Complex.
Shippensburg (1-3, 0-2 PSAC East) fell behind 3-0 in the first five minutes before Brewer answered with back-to-back goals that brought the Raiders within one. Brewer scored again at the 11-minute mark, but Lock Haven had already built a 7-3 lead by that point and would cage eight more goals before the intermission.
Sophomores
Lindsey Kennedy and

Bennett Widlake scored both of SU's goals in the second half.
Defensively, junior

Lock Haven (4-0, 2-0 PSAC East) unleashed a potent offensive assault that was too much for the Raiders to overcome. Gwen Buss scored five goals off the bench to lead all scorers, while Jessica Pandolf and Jamie Uzialko each scored four goals. The Bald Eagle defense had 14 caused turnovers – six by Katie Zichelli – and picked up 23 groundballs.
