Box Score SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Five players scored in double figures on Saturday afternoon as the Shippensburg University men's basketball team earned its first PSAC victory of the season with a 77-63 win over Edinboro in the first of two weekend conference crossover games from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (3-5, 1-2 PSAC) held Edinboro (2-3, 1-2) to 30 points below its season average entering Saturday, while also holding the PSAC's leading scorer – Bryan Theriot – to 17 points and six rebounds.

Sophomore Dylan Edgar led the Raiders by posting 17 points for the second straight game. He was 5-of-7 from the field. The point total is one short of his career high (18) set earlier this year versus Cal.

Senior Craig Van Scyoc had his second double-double of the season, finishing with 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. It is the third time this season and the fourth time in his career that Van Scyoc has grabbed double-digit rebounds.

Making his first start of the season, senior Dane Lauber played well, finishing with 12 points and seven rebounds while leading the Raiders with four assists and three steals.

Off the bench, senior John Corrigan and freshman Sam Pygatt each scored in double figures. Pygatt shot 5-of-6 from the floor to finish with 12 points and three assists. Corrigan buried three shots from three-point range to finish with 11 points – his highest scoring output since pouring in 13 in a loss to Kutztown last season on Jan. 12.

SU jumped out early from the start, grabbing a seven-point lead just four minutes into the contest. A Van Scyoc three-pointer with six minutes remaining in the first half gave the Raiders a 15-point lead. A 15-8 Edinboro run, however, cut Shippensburg's lead to eight at the break.

Just over two minutes into the second period, the Raiders brought their lead back up to 13 with a pair of free throws from Corrigan.

With nine minutes left in regulation, the Fighting Scots again went on a run, scoring seven unanswered to trim their deficit to just four. SU answered with an 11-5 run of its own and led by 10 with four minutes left. From there, the Shippensburg lead failed to dip below nine points.

Shippensburg will host Lock Haven at 3 p.m. Sunday from Heiges Field House. The Bald Eagles are guided by former Raider assistant coach Mike Nestor '00, who spent the last 11 seasons on the SU sidelines.
