LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team lost in straight sets on Saturday afternoon to Lock Haven by scores of 20-25, 18-25, 15-25, setting up a rematch between the two schools on Tuesday night in the first round of the PSAC playoffs.
Sophomore
Jill Edwards led the Raiders (15-20, 8-11 PSAC) with 10 kills, while junior
Jenny Pry finished close behind with eight. Junior
Rachel Smicker posted a .556 hitting percentage to go along with five kills.
Defensively, junior
Lauren Murphy posted 14 digs, eight more than any other Raider, while junior
Erin Flick posted two solo blocks and two block assists.
The Raiders enter the conference playoffs as the East's No. 4 seed, and will travel to the division's No. 1 seed – Lock Haven (18-8, 15-4) – for the PSAC quarterfinals on Tuesday.
The match between the Raiders and Bald Eagles will begin at 7 p.m.
