Men’s Swimming Wins Seven Events, Earns Dual Meet Victory Over Fairmont State, 110-81

Joe Keefe wins 100 fly and 200 back; Westley narrowly misses PSAC cut in 100 back

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team won seven events on Saturday afternoon from Donald N. Miller Pool inside Heiges Field House to achieve a 110-81 dual meet victory over the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University.

Senior Joe Keefe was the only multiple-event winner of the day for Shippensburg, earning first place in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly. Sophomore Ryan Westley was one one-hundredth of a second short of a PSAC qualifying cut in the 100-yard backstroke, winning the event in 55.44 seconds.

The 400-yard medley relay of junior Eric Naylor, freshman Tyler Minford, sophomore #R.J. Phiambolis and junior Mike Keefe# started out the day with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:48.85. 
 
Shippensburg returns to action next weekend with a 6 p.m. dual meet on Friday at Clarion and a noon dual meet on Saturday at Edinboro.
