Women’s Soccer Drops Sixth 1-0 Decision of Season With Loss at East Stroudsburg

Raiders outshoot Warriors 14-13; Rackley makes six saves in goal

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team was unable to capitalize on its 14 shot attempts Tuesday night from Eiler-Martin Stadium in dropping a 1-0 decision at East Stroudsburg. It was SU's sixth loss of the season by a 1-0 margin.

With just under eight minutes remaining in the first half, the Raiders (5-8-3, 3-7-2 PSAC) gave up the game-winner when an ESU (6-8-1, 3-8-1) shot deflected off a defender and into the goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Shelbie Rackley made six saves, while freshman Michal Sanders and junior Molly Sanders each recorded three shots.

SU plays its final home game of the season at 7 p.m. Saturday versus West Chester. The team will be holding its Senior Day ceremonies before the contest at David See Field. Cassie Armold, Brittany Hibshman, and captains Samantha Stuart and Emily Andrew will be honored.
