SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Chrissy Black scored his second and third goals of the year on Saturday afternoon as the Shippensburg University men's soccer team shut out WVIAC opponent Wheeling Jesuit, 3-0, for its fifth consecutive victory.

The Raiders (7-5-1) got on the board just over 10 minutes into the contest when, after a header by sophomore Alex Prosser was saved by the Cardinals' (7-4-1) goalkeeper in the box, Black sent the rebound into the back of the net for a 1-0 SU lead.

Later in the half, as the Raiders had possession in front of the box, Wheeling Jesuit's goalie left the box to collect the ball but was unable to grab it, letting it roll behind him. Sophomore Andrew Collier took advantage of the miscue, slipping behind the goalie and tapping the ball into the open goal for his third score of the season.

As the intensity grew in the second half, both teams were unable to take advantage of scoring opportunities. But with just under five minutes remaining in regulation, Black eluded a defender in the left side of the box and sent a shot across the goal into the right portion of the net. Black's goals give him three in his rookie campaign, and he is the first Raider to score multiple goals in a game this season.

Junior goalkeeper Andrew Foran finished with three saves to earn his fourth shutout of the season, with each coming during the current Raider winning streak. Foran has allowed just one goal while making 22 saves during the span.

SU travels to East Stroudsburg on Tuesday for a pivotal PSAC showdown, as the Raiders and Warriors are jockeying to finish in the Top 4 in the PSAC and qualify for the conference playoffs. The game starts at 5 p.m.
