SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg men's basketball team fell victim to a hot-shooting group of Golden Rams on Thursday night from Heiges Field House as visiting West Chester shot 56 percent from the floor and hit 9-of-18 from three-point range to defeat the Red Raiders, 82-70.
Shippensburg (6-11, 1-4 PSAC East) got 14 points and seven rebounds from junior forward
Will Royal along with a career-high 13 points and nine rebounds from freshman
Dylan Edgar. SU out-rebounded the visitors and shot 45 percent from the floor but committed 19 turnovers that resulted in 22 Golden Ram points.
Senior
Jaren Gembe had 11 points and seven assists while sophomore
Will Kirkland and junior
Dane Lauber each contributed nine points off the bench.
West Chester (11-6, 2-3 PSAC East) had five players post double figures. Jaleel Mack had 17 points off the bench in 21 minutes of action while fellow reserve Miguel Bocachica was 4-of-5 from three-point range. Senior Kehinde Roberts had 15 points while Lance McDowell was one rebound short of a double-double.
Shippensburg will travel Saturday to East Stroudsburg for a 1 p.m. tip-off with the Warriors.
