PHILADELPHIA – The Shippensburg women's swimming team dropped a pair of swims in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon from the Drexel Pool at the Daskalakis Athletic Center – falling to Bloomsburg 151-110 and Drexel 173-87. Three Lady Raiders posted multiple PSAC cuts during the meet.
In freestyle swims, freshman
Julie Brown and senior
Amy Fisher performed well. Brown posted a time of 25.16 in the 50 and a time of 2:02.27 in the 200. Junior
Nicole Capozzi was the pacesetter in the 200 with a time of 2:00.32. Fisher swam the 500 in 5:22.06 and the 1,000 in 10:48.98.

Rachael Ballard finished third in both breaststroke events, recording a time of 1:10.23 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a time of 2:33.97 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Sophomore
Julia Brownrigg touched the wall in 2:15.03 in the 200-yard backstroke and senior
Heather Weaver had another PSAC cut in the 200-yard butterfly.
The 200-yard medley relay squad of freshman
Kaitlyn Shelly, Ballard, Capozzi and Brown posted a second-place time of 1:53.45. The 400-yard freestyle relay of Capozzi, Fisher, junior
Kristen McCandless and Brown posted a third-place time of 3:48.09. Drexel won both events.
Next weekend, SU will compete in a quad meet hosted by IUP.
