SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg men's basketball team trailed by 12 points at halftime on Saturday afternoon from Heiges Field House and rallied within one point of the lead on three occasions during the second half but could not complete its comeback against Mansfield, falling 69-62 to the Mountaineers.
Shippensburg (6-10, 1-3 PSAC East) committed just eight turnovers in the contest but shot just 37 percent from the floor, including a 30-percent effort in the first half. Junior
Dane Lauber led SU with 14 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. The other Red Raider in double figures was junior
Jordan Stasyszyn, who delivered 11 points off the bench.
Mansfield (11-5, 3-1 PSAC East) did an outstanding job limiting Shippensburg from beyond the arc, as the Red Raiders made just four three-pointers in the game – their second-lowest total in a game this season. Additionally, the Mountaineers were 16-of-19 (84 percent) from the free-throw line, while SU finished 18-of-27 (66 percent) from the charity stripe.

Jaren Gembe had nine points and five assists, and junior
Craig Van Scyoc contributed eight points. Sophomore
Will Kirkland and freshman
Dylan Edgar each scored seven points, with Edgar also grabbing a game-high nine boards.
Shippensburg will host West Chester at 8 p.m. Wednesday from Heiges Field House.
