WILMINGTON, Del. – A second-half blast off a direct kick by senior tri-captain Miles Harriger keyed a 1-0 road victory for the Shippensburg men's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon at Goldey-Beacom and marked the first time since 2007 that the Red Raiders have won back-to-back games.

Shippensburg (2-1) surpassed its win total from each of the last two seasons on Wednesday by once again dictating the pace of play for the majority of the contest. SU outshot the Lightning 16-9 and recorded a 5-3 advantage in corners.

The aggression was once again evident for the Red Raiders as they were whistled offsides nine times. SU was ruled offsides 15 times on Sunday against Washington Adventist.

Harriger's blast came in the 55th minute following a foul by Goldey-Beacom. It was the first goal of the year for Harriger and the eighth in his career.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Foran was forced to make just two saves in recording his first career shutout. On the other side, Ignacio Farias made six saves in defeat.

The back-to-back victories are the first for Shippensburg since Oct. 4-6, 2007 when the Red Raiders dispatched Bloomsburg and Lock Haven.

Shippensburg continues its road trip on Saturday with a 4 p.m. match at West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats lost at Gannon on Wednesday, 4-1.
