SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Never give up. That was the motto of the Shippensburg University women's volleyball team on Friday night from Heiges Field House as the Lady Raiders took two of the first three sets and rallied from a 12-7 hole in the fifth set to defeat PSAC Eastern Division rival Lock Haven, 3-2.
Shippensburg (5-8, 1-4 PSAC) snapped a five-match losing streak to the Lady Eagles that dated back to 2006 by remaining vigilant during long rallies and attacking the ball with determination. Facing Lock Haven, the best hitting team in the PSAC, SU was able to rack up 11 total blocks while serving 10 aces.
