EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University volleyball team could not get over the hump this weekend at East Stroudsburg, as the Lady Raiders dropped another pair of close matches to PSAC Western Division opponents Saturday. SU was felled by Clarion in straight sets and The Rock in four sets.

Shippensburg (4-8, 0-4 PSAC) hung with Clarion in Saturday's opener but dropped the match 25-18, 25-23 and 25-18. The Golden Eagles have now won 10 straight matches, including all four of its PSAC contests to date. The nightcap against The Rock featured set scores of 25-23, 14-25, 25-20 and 25-19.

Freshman Jill Edwards and sophomore Jenny Pry each combined for 19 kills in the doubleheader while junior Libby Woffindin contributed 14 kills on the afternoon. SU hit .152 against Clarion and .132 against The Rock but allowed a total of 17 aces between the two contests.

Shippensburg will begin its home schedule Friday, September 24 with a 7 p.m. conference matchup against Lock Haven from Heiges Field House.
